The Handy Poker is used to stir the bowl and clean the permanent screen. There is a convenient 5 bowl (estimated) tobacco container that can also be used to tamp your tobacco (see TAMPER, below).
(TAMPER: An instrument for pressing down tobacco in a pipe bowl, especially when a pipe is being relighted, and the tobacco is too hot for comfortable finger tamping. Formerly called a stopple. Early stopples were usually clay. Modern tampers are usually metal.)
The Tar Trap is removed by punching through the center hole with the poker. The picture below shows the Pipe Assembled and Unassembled.
